We are pleased to offer you another opportunity to experience a Cultural Induction at Huria Marae. It is for those who have not stepped onto a marae before or who have limited experience of a marae and are interested in finding out more about our local history and tikanga in general.

9:00am: Gather outside the Marae

9:15am: Karanga on to the atea / tikanga Māori

Including:

• Meet and greet with our hosts – hongi
• Hear some of the history and find out all about the Huria Marae
• History of Mana Whenua
• Pepeha
• Waiata
• Tikanga o te Marae

10:30am: Light refreshments

11:00am: Return to Wharenui for Tikanga Protocols and Cultural Capability

12.30pm Finish

Anyone that registers will be provided with an Induction package prior to the day.

On the day please bring a koha / gift from your organisation.
