Leading and engaging with volunteers is not always smooth sailing. Poor performance, toxic personalities and challenging behaviour all have negative effects on your brand, team functioning and your ability to achieve your goals and mission.

This workshop aims to give you tools and tips to address volunteer performance issues and challenging behaviours, with a focus on:

• The impacts on you and your organisation
• Options to address poor performance
• Myths about “problem” volunteers
• Identifying and managing your own performance
• How to structure a difficult conversation to achieve change
• Strategies that suit your leadership style

We’re excited to welcome Chris Atkinson as our facilitator.

Chris has worked in volunteer engagement since the International Year of the volunteer in 2001. She established the volunteer service at Waikato Hospital and worked for nine years as a regional advisor for Volunteering Waikato. Currently Chris is an advisor for the volunteer service at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Waikato, as well as providing training, coaching and mentoring to Not-For-Profits in best practice volunteer engagement.
